Charlotte Mayorkas is a San Diego native and considers herself to be an athlete, not just a golfer.
Her first sport was tennis at a young age, where she excelled and found her love of competing. In her younger years she played any sport she could get her hands on, and at the age of 10 she found golf.
She took to golf quickly, considering she won the third tournament she entered. From there, she lettered four years as the No.1 player on the Boy’s Varsity High School Golf Team. As a junior she won multiple national events which thrusted her into the spotlight of college coaches, where she decided to accept a full scholarship to the UCLA Women’s Golf Program. At UCLA she won 5 individual titles, was a 3-time First Team All-American, and led her team to a National Championship in 2004. Charlotte finished that season ranked second in the country in the Golfstat and Golfweek polls.
In the summer of 2005 she turned professional where she won 2 Duramed Futures Tour Titles, was second on the money list, and had 13 out of 16 top 10 finishes. She earned her LPGA status in 2007, and made 54 out of 67 cuts during her career. She played in the 2007 Women’s British Open at the Old Course at St. Andrews. It was the first-ever women’s professional event at the Old Course. Her best LPGA Tour finish was tied for 12th at the Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
She joins Haggin Oaks to share her knowledge, experience, and expertise to support athletes of all ages in their journey.
Fun Fact: Her husband, Mike Duhamel is a coach at Haggin Oaks and they met while on Tour. They moved to Sacramento to be close to family, and are looking forward to hosting coaching programs together as a team!
