JUNIOR ROAD MAP

The Northern California Institute of Golf provides an athlete-centered approach to improving a student’s game. Golf Coaches are trained to understand not only technical swing techniques but perhaps, more importantly, the human skills of golf. We build long-lasting, trustworthy relationships while having the student understand the most important aspects of the game and practice habits for effective results.


CHOOSE A PROGRAM

TOTS ON THE TEE: $250 (Ages 3 – 4)

This program takes place in the Active Start development phase, and is a program specifically designed for 3-to-4-year-olds. Participants discover and explore the very basics of the game of golf through station-game-based learning, also developing athletic and First Tee life skills. This is a 6-Session fun-filled program which focuses on appropriate activities for this age group.

FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT: $270 (Ages 5 – 10)

The Sessions contain eight 90-minute classes. Participants experience fundamentals of the game of golf, incorporate First Tee Core Values, and develop athletic skills. At the completion of this class, the participants will be able to name the parts of a golf club, understand how to safely use a golf club, have a basic understanding of what club to use for different golf shots, and have an increased ability to perform athletic skills.

PRE-TEEN GET COURSE READY: $250 (Ages 7-12)


Pre-Teen Get Course Ready is broken into 6-week sessions where you can expect the participants to be developing all fundamental facets of the game of golf to start their on-course journey. They will learn the life skills of First Tee and develop athletic skills and movements which are critical in becoming a healthy and happy child, along with a more coordinated golfer. During each class participants are split into 3 to 4 smaller groups, typically chronologically and developmentally skill appropriate, allowing for a more efficient learning environment. We will create a fast paced, fun environment through station/game-based learning. Students will be exposed to all core skills that are necessary to play on the golf course from full swing, pitching, bunkers, chip shots and putting and they will be exposed to playing our state-of-the-art academy holes to begin their on-course experience.

LITTLE LINKERS: $400 (Ages 7+)

An on-course, developmental, skill-building based program designed to allow golfers to be comfortable on the golf course. The class is on Saturdays, with the spring and fall sessions being split between on-course 9-hole play and practice sessions on our state-of-the-art academy holes.

Our spring/fall sessions are built for technical and rules/etiquette development. The summer session has more of a tournament feel with fun competitions. During the spring and fall participants tee off from different distances depending on skill level and will move depending on their development. During the summer, participants play from specific age-related yardages, helping them become more comfortable under competitive conditions.

HIGH SCHOOL 1 $400 ( Ages 13-17)

This program will have four, 6-week sessions through the year (on Saturdays). Two sessions in the spring, and 2 sessions in the fall, with our summer program running separately in June and July. Participants in this class are just starting to learn the game and will be developing their putting, short-game and full swing skills. We will develop the participants into golfers who can start to play on the course recreationally or competitively. We will create a fast paced, fun environment through station/game-based learning. Students will be exposed to all core skills that are necessary to play on the golf course by playing our state-of-the-art academy holes to begin their on-course experience.

COMPETITIVE PRE-TEEN $500 ( Ages 8-12)

This program will have four, 6-week sessions through the year (on Thursdays). Two sessions in the spring, and 2 sessions in the fall, with our summer program running separately in July & August. This class intersects two Athlete Development Phases- Introduction to Competition and Learn to Compete. It is designed for young athletes and their support systems that have been identified as advanced players for their age group, that have expressed interest or are currently participating in a competitive golf environment.

HIGH SCHOOL 2 $500 ( Ages 13-17)

High School 2 program will have four, 6-week sessions throughout the year (on Saturdays). Two sessions in the spring, and 2 sessions in the fall, with our summer program running separately in July & August. This program is for athletes who are showing signs of specializing in golf as a sport and want to further explore competitive golf. This program consists of refining golf skills in relation to competitive expectations and benchmarks.

We will alternate weeks of training, then playing, for the 6-week program.

An on-course program with the purpose of developing all skills needed to thrive on the golf course. A 9-week program which includes, stat-tracking, competition, course management and mentorship. Our spring/fall sessions are built for technical and rules/etiquette development. The summer session has more of a tournament feel with fun competitions. During the spring and fall participants tee off from different distances depending on skill level and will move depending on their development. During the summer, participants play from specific age-related yardages, helping them become more comfortable under competitive conditions. Spring and Fall sessions are split between golf course time and academy hole practice sessions. Summer sessions are exclusively on the golf course.

NCIG PLAYER DEVELOPMENT $750 ( Ages 14-18)

Our Player Development Program is our most competitive program. It is year-round and is designed to help athletes and their support systems navigate the world of competitive golf. It will consist of supervised group practice sessions, on-course play, and individual sessions. Our coaches have extensive experience playing and coaching at the highest levels of amateur and professional golf and want to pass this knowledge on to those who have lofty goals. Players in this program are excelling in their age group and have expressed interest in playing golf at the highest levels.

This program is an on-course, developmental, skill-building based program. The class is on Saturdays during the spring and fall and it is on Tuesdays during the summer, with tee times starting at 1 pm. Each week participants will be learning to track key on-course statistics for improvement, keeping their score (with the help of a coach), learning, and experiencing important rules and pace of play strategies.
Our spring/fall sessions are built for technical and rules/etiquette development. Where as our summer session has more of a tournament feel. During the spring and fall participants tee off from different distances depending on skill level and will move depending on their development. Whereas, during the summer participants play from First tee age-related yardages, helping them become more comfortable in tournament conditions

HIGH SCHOOL 1 $400 ( Ages 13-17)

This is a 6-week program for ages 13-17 with a midweek and weekend offering catering to junior athletes who are either just being introduced to the game or have graduated from the after-school program. The participants will be further developing their putting, short-game and full swing skills. We will develop the participants into golfers who can start to play on the course recreationally or competitively
